Counselling Ministries

Rock and Refuge ministries offers biblical counselling sessions to individuals and couples. The essence of the counselling holds to the core belief from Psalm 62, that our souls find rest in God and our salvation comes from him. The aim is to direct our hearts closer to the good news of Christ, through the Word, which promises to bring change by the power of the Spirit.
A primary aim in the counselling is to work alongside evangelical churches by helping believers to be rooted in Christ. Our desire is to have a strong partnership with local churches so that every counselee is well supported by its leaders and church family.

These sessions are given by Adele Guest (and Matt Guest in couples counselling). Adele has completed a BA Hons degree in Biblical and Pastoral studies at Oakhill Theological College and the North West Partnership Training Course. Adele also completed the certificate programme offered by the Christian Counselling and Education Foundation (www.ccef.org). This comprehensive course of study has included courses in a biblical view of personal change, developing effective helping relationships and caring ministries within the local church, understanding counselling problems and procedures in both individual and marriage counselling, developing the essential qualities of a biblical counsellor, and counselling observation. Since completing her training in 2022, Adele has continued this ministry in local churches for the past 3 years.
