Counselling Session

'Truly he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.'

A typical biblical counselling session through Rock and Refuge Counselling will be an hour long, often held in-person in the counsellors home in Crewe (on Monday or Tuesday evenings TBA).  We aim to provide a relaxed and informal environment where counselees feel comfortable and safe to share honestly. Your counsellor is trained in both Scripture and counselling. However, your counsellor is not a licensed psychologist or licensed professional counsellor.

Sessions are £30 for individuals and £40 for couples. This can be paid by bank transfer prior to the meeting.

For more information regarding appointment availability, please contact us.

Community

We believer that in order for longer lasting change, God provides us with a community of believers through the local church. Our desire is to have a strong partnership with local churches so that every counselee is well supported by its leaders and church family. In light of this we encourage every counselee to have a ‘peer’, preferably from their own church, where they might feel comfortable talking through some aspects of the sessions in order to be further discipled. And if possible, they might join sessions later on if that is what the counselee and church desire. In some cases, this may not be a possibility or necessary and so is not a requirement.

Confidentiality

We are very sensitive to the issue of confidentiality. To release counselling information without your consent would violate both biblical standards and commonly accepted codes of counselling ethics. There are situations, however, where it may be necessary for us to share certain information with others.

  1. When the counsellor believes that those receiving care could be in danger of harming themselves or others
  2. When the counsellor believes that there is ongoing abuse taking place—i.e. sexual, physical, domestic, etc.
  3. When a child or vulnerable person reveals information that indicates any kind of abuse posing a danger.
  4. When the counsellor is ordered by a court of law to release the counselee’s information.
  5. When the counsellor seeks guidance and receives regular supervision to better care for those they are helping, they can discuss relevant information with ministry supervisors. In the case of supervision, the cases shall be anonymised.
  6. Details shall only be shared with church leadership after permission has been discussed with the counselee.

Please be assured that we strongly prefer to keep personal information confidential and will make every effort to resolve issues as privately as possible.

Before meeting, you will be asked to sign an agreement form in regards to the above.
