Rock and Refuge ministries also offer biblical counselling sessions to individuals and couples. The essence of the counselling holds to the core belief from Psalm 62, that our souls find rest in God and our salvation comes from him.  We aim to direct our hearts closer to the gospel which promises to bring change, that is given by the spirit, through the ministry of the Word, and pointing us to the guidance of Lord Jesus Christ. 

A primary aim in the counselling is to work alongside evangelical churches by strengthening believers to be rooted in Christ.  Our desire is to have a strong partnership with local churches so that every counselee is well supported by its leaders and church family.

These sessions are given by Adele Guest (and Matt Guest in couples counselling). Adele has completed the North West Partnership Training Course and a BA Hons degree in Biblical and Pastoral studies at Oakhill Theological College. Adele has also completed the entire certificate programme offered by the Christian Counselling and Education Foundation (www.ccef.org). This comprehensive course of study has included courses in a biblical view of personal change, developing effective helping relationships and caring ministries within the local church, understanding counselling problems and procedures in both individual and marriage counselling, developing the essential qualities of a biblical counsellor, and counselling observation. Since completing her training in 2022, Adele has continued this ministry in local churches for the last 3 years.
